The use of artificial intelligence and its effects on students.

Since artificial intelligence is still extremely new as a society we still have yet to enact any real barriers as to how regular people can use it. I believe the most impacted audience has been students as mostly everything we do, either in high school or college can be done using A.I without using any real brain power. I see many of my peers use it on practically everything for each class, however they arent really learning much when they use A.I which is the biggest issue I think. We still have yet to see what consequences will arise when these people get their diploma but also we have yet to see how powerful A.I will become in the following years. What is your stance on this issue?

  1. I think the real issue with AI is how students use it. Since there are not many rules yet, a lot of people let AI do their work instead of learning the material themselves. It may feel easier in the moment, but it can hurt them later when real skills matter. We still do not know what the long term effects will be, so students should use AI to learn, not to avoid learning.

    1. Yes I totally agree! College is about learning the material and then applying it into your career when you start to work. If you don’t learn any thing you can apply to your career then what is the point!

  2. I totally agree. Students should be using their own brain instead of using AI. It’s a great tool but not something we should be using when trying to learn.

    1. Thank you! I do agree its a great tool that will be used in every aspect of life however we cant develop an overreliance on AI or else it will have dire consequences.

  3. I agree with it fully. Ai shouldn’t be the only resort students look to but just used as a helpful tool that helps them learn better or make complex ideas simpler to learn

I believe AI is one of the greatest inventions in the last 100 years and is incredibly useful in countless scenarios, but using it without thinking and just copying and pasting, defeats the purpose of genuinely helping someone with the task. Instead AI does it for them and doesn’t allow the person to think critically, if used for just copying and pasting.

    1. I think AI may have been our greatest invention ever, however if we use it in the wrong ways it can easily spiral out of control and become our downfall. But like you said instead of using it as a tool people are just letting the AI do everything for them.
